Nathan joins Pinna, Johnson and Burwell after graduating from the University of North Carolina School of Law. During his time in law school, he gained practical experience working as an extern for a company focused on start-up law and as a member of the school’s Start-Up NC Law Clinic. His commitment to entrepreneurship and client service was recognized through the Jerry L. Wordsworth Fellowship in Entrepreneurship, awarded for his dedication and exceptional understanding of the law. While in law school, Nathan was surprised to discovered a strong interest in advanced tax planning, which he continues to develop as part of his professional focus.
Before attending law school, Nathan worked for a variety of closely held companies, giving him valuable insight into the challenges business owners face on a daily basis. That experience drives his commitment to serving clients with excellence and providing practical, solutions-oriented guidance.
Nathan earned his Bachelor of Arts in Government, summa cum laude, from Regent University and his Juris Doctor with high honors from University of North Carolina School of Law where he served as a Comments Editor on the North Carolina Law Review.
Nathan lives outside of Raleigh with his wife and two children.
